Sir António Horta-Osório joins ebankIT as a Senior Advisor

ebankIT is delighted to announce the appointment of Sir António Horta-Osório, as a Senior Advisor. Sir António Horta-Osório will bring decades of business experience to the omnichannel banking software company and will contribute to drive global growth and expansion.

He has a degree in management and business administration from the Portuguese Catholic University in Lisbon; an MBA from INSEAD, and an Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School.

Sir António Horta-Osório has been Chairman of Credit Suisse till January 2022, and CEO of Lloyds from 2011 till April 2021. Previously he worked at Santander where he was Executive VP and the CEO of the UK (2006/10), Brazil (1996/99) and Portugal (1993/96 and 2000/2006). He has also worked at Goldman Sachs and Citibank, and he served on the Court of the Bank of England on a personal capacity (2009/11).

In 2021, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his work in financial services as well as for voluntary services to mental healthcare and culture.

Sir António Horta-Osório is currently Senior Advisor at “Cerberus” and “Mediobanca”; is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the pharmaceutical company BIAL in Porto, Portugal; is Deputy Chairman of “Grupo Impresa”; Non-executive director at “José de Mello Capital SA”, “Fundação Champalimaud” and at Stichting/Enable INPAR.
