As we look toward 2025, the pace of innovation shows no signs of slowing down, bringing exciting opportunities and challenges for UX/UI designers.
What's in store for UX/UI design in 2025?
Digital banking has evolved significantly over the years, transforming the way we manage our finances. As we look toward 2025, the pace of innovation shows no signs of slowing down, bringing exciting opportunities and challenges for UX/UI designers.
To gain insight into the future of digital banking interfaces, we turned to three industry experts to share their predictions that will define the next wave of user-centered financial experiences.
Ronald Moraes, lead product designer at ebankIT, says, "2025 can bring us a new challenge because of new devices like Apple Vision or other prototype glasses that will make us think a new way about layout without limits."
The Vision Pro headset allows navigation through eye movements, utilizing gestures such as tapping to select, flicking to scroll, and voice commands. Soon, banking users might employ this headset for their everyday banking tasks.
Paula Oliveira, Head of digital experience, agrees and says, "Voice interfaces have been around for a while, so most of us are already used to interacting with Alexa or Siri, for example. But now we are looking for new ways of interactions related to new devices like glasses."
She also highlights that with augmented reality, the banking platforms will move to more intuitive and natural ways of interaction, making banking more accessible for people with different ranges of impairments and available for all in different contexts.
She mentions that as voice interfaces continue to evolve, they will pave the way for more discreet UIs, while gesture-based devices will compel designers to reevaluate banking interactions and address new usability and comfort challenges due to their distinct nature.
Bárbara Pereira, a lead product analyst, believes that 2025 will also be marked by AI development. "AI is one of the most transformative technologies for improving personalization and customer engagement, but also for fraud detection and risk assessment in real-time, which will help the banks maintain a secure environment."
Paula Oliveira adds that "AI developments allow for the creation of predictive models that can anticipate user needs and suggest relevant content or actions even before the users ask for them. So these models can learn from user behavior, from their history, and from their context to provide proactive recommendations."
Creating more engaging banking experiences
Ronald Moraes believes that designers can create a more engaging experience through gamification and by exploring rewards. Designers can use micro-interactions to give meaningful feedback, employing a minimalistic aesthetic and single-designed features. Financial institutions can tailor their UI for each customer segment, utilizing personalization to help bank clients achieve various target goals.
I believe that the personalized user experience foster a deep connection between the product and the consumer, increasing satisfaction and loyalty.

Paula Oliveira further mentions the significant advancement of predictive models that can anticipate user needs and suggest relevant content or act even before the users ask for them. Personalization which dynamically adjusts according to user behavior, preferences, and contextual elements like location or time of day.
Bárbara Pereira also notes that Open banking APIs are transforming how financial institutions collaborate. They enable banks to integrate their services and seamlessly connect with third-party providers, enhancing the overall customer experience.
How is ebankIT ahead of the game?
ebankIT experts know that different markets have different needs, so they address this, through a flexible and modular approach. With an out-of-the-box solution that enables banks to implement a solid digital platform quickly and at the same time that can adapt to regional requirements.
We will continue to focus on an omnichannel strategy to ensure consistency in the user experience across all touchpoints being mobile apps, web chatbots or even the branch.
- Paula Oliveira, Head of Digital Experience at ebankIT.
Ronald Moraes explains that ebankIT's guidelines help maintain consistency in the user experience, while keeping the distinctive look of the brand of each bank. The design system created by them, the particle design system, has a minimalist UI focused on simplicity. The less is more philosophy is a key principle in ebankIT product design, making it easy to adapt and configure.
Bárbara Pereira also emphasizes that ebankIT Studio, a low-code tool, streamlines project development by shortening development timelines. This allows financial institutions to concentrate on innovation, generating new ideas, and enhancing the user experience.
Safe by design: designing secure and trustworthy user experiences
Security is a top priority at ebankIT, and thus the primary objective for UX/UI experts is to ensure secure access through straightforward and intuitive methods, enhancing the customer experience with features like facial recognition, fingerprint scanning, and other open banking APIs.
Paula Oliveira highlights that as banking becomes more sophisticated, more concerns about data breaches or fraud will rise. Customers will demand more transparent security measures to control their privacy and their information, even it will continue to enforce the industry guidelines while making those security measures as straightforward and as intuitive as possible.
The ebankIT platform will evolve to allow financial institutions to adopt new interfaces and provide new experiences with proactive and real-time support for more complex tasks. At the same time, prioritizing user education on security and privacy to empower users is also important.
Personalization, Gamification, and Beyond: Redefining UX in 2025
The year 2025 promises to be a transformative one for UX/UI design, driven by groundbreaking advancements in technology and user expectations. New devices, such as Apple Vision and prototype smart glasses, challenge designers to think beyond traditional layouts and embrace a limitless, immersive canvas. As voice interfaces mature, the focus shifts to integrating these with innovative devices to craft seamless, intuitive interactions.
The infusion of gamification opens the door for more engaging user experiences, encouraging exploration and sustained interaction. Meanwhile, advancements in AI redefine personalization, allowing predictive models to anticipate user needs, tailor recommendations, and create proactive solutions that delight users.
By harnessing micro-interactions and minimalist aesthetics, designers can provide purposeful feedback, crafting clean and intuitive experiences. Industries like finance are already demonstrating the power of personalization, offering interfaces that adapt to the unique goals and needs of individual users.
In this dynamic landscape, the role of designers extends beyond functionality to creating meaningful, human-centered experiences.
As we move into 2025, the challenge is clear: design not just for what’s possible today, but for the endless potential of tomorrow.
